..it's beyond me..beyond anything that has been penned about it..in books, in magazines, in anything that I have read even at a glance..but then again they say a picture speaks a thousand words..and it did..this orang utan did the unthinkable..this orang utan did something that is out of the norm..they do not like water, they hate water even..but what drove this orang utan to throw caution to the wind..did he took the risk out of boredom..did he took the risk because it is there to begin with..ventured to the pond that encircles its so called home..home at the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park to be precise..I haven't stopped counting my lucky stars..not since this chance encounter..a sweet encounter..might it be he could no longer stand the searing heat..or maybe he is in his playful mood..he saw me watching him..he took his own sweet time..he then granted me with this amazing display of the unimaginable..he blew bubbles out of the water right before my eyes..I could not believe it..with perspiration running profusely down my face..I hit the shutter button..praying hard that I caught the fantastic images in time..appeased for the moment..I still could not help wondering..is it so surprising..this astonishing act..they are after all our nearest relative..how else would they contemplate this..but whatever it is..a thing for sure..my feet will never cease to grace the park..can't wait for the next rendezous..Lok Kawi Wildlife Park..soon

Baby Proboscis Monkey
..what could possibly be behind this look..I have seen this kind of look countless of times..a stare into nothingness..void of emotion..my kids do this alot..'mentonong' again, my wife would say..I hate to admit this, we adult do this too, alot I might say..the off-limit zone where nothingness is a bliss..could this baby probo ponders upon his future, how he would fare in it..would he survives their ever shrinking population..would he live the day to tell his adventures to his offsprings..bleak or promising, only time will tell..in the meantime, I hope he would just enjoy the bless of the day..no cares in the world..but most of all enjoy his childhood..like we did..it only comes once a knocking...

Crested Fireback
ahhhhh..at long last..the obsession with this pheasant..these hauntings that possesses the mind..night and day..now finally I can move on & hunt other birds with peace of mind...eversince I bought my EOS 400D, this bird filled the senses..I was more than ever determined to capture it on camera..its rich colors is mesmerizing to say the least..eventho' moving in a relatively slow pace, getting a clear shot was never a success..one word comes to mind..elusive..yes, an elusive creature..until that fateful day..I was presented with the smallest window of opportunity..ignoring the mosquitoes' annoying buzzes..ignoring their itching bites..to my hands..to my face..I hold my breath..for one full minute..holding..holding..until that split moment..I pressed firmly the shutter button..and..walla..behold..parading its glorious colour in one perfect pose..there's no denial..the crested fireback is one stunning specimen of the bird kingdom..while most times than not, photography has its darkest moment..for me anyway..not to mention challenging..yes, I have mountains of them..personally..I am very proud and happy with this result..enjoy!!! Ochraceous Bulbul (Criniger ochraceus)
moving with the speed as the blink of one's eyes..after so many frustating shots..not to mention the dizziness that comes from following its movement..squinting one's eyes tirelessly..and like a sniper..I took aim at the target..took the shot..captured this pose..perfect..triumph..Please visit http://www.flickr.com/photos/jordansitorus/1080830047/ for EXIF
Butterfly
perching regally as if on its throne..the colour combination reminds me of the royal colour..I called this a fluke shot..fluke as I was not hunting for it in particular..fluke as I stumbled upon it when the last thing on my mind was the last puff of smoke I had..can't do without them I'm afraid..helps calm the nerves..hhhmmm..hurrying with one track mind to the car..my buddy in tow..saw this enchanting insect..almost missing it..captured it before it fluttered away..the regal butterfly..the insect that is close to my wife's heart..

Skink 1
my wife insisted in calling it "balingkarung" and not "mengkarung"..a name that stuck since childhood..she said it is prettier..prettier than the common house lizard..no comparison to the colors obviously..camouflaging itself against the tree's bark, one would easily missed it if not for one's sharp eyes..a tiny version of the monitor lizard..particularly endemic to Borneo..caught it on camera during night trekking at Inobong..
Skink 2
such beauty..up close and personal..only then can one appreciate the skink's exquisite and gorgeous colour..one of my wife's favs..
