Kingfisher

Not much been going on the past few weekends-except for work, work and more work. I'm totally suffering from mental exhaustion! The recent office renovation made things much worse than it should be. Auditors are coming tommorow and lets just hope they'll not ask for the misplaced files!(fingers crossed!)

Today and yesterday(Saturday and Sunday), I went to settle some things at the office before I went to the spot where I saw an Oriental Darter before. It is a small lake with an Island in the middle. A few dead trees in the waters-perfect place for birds to perch on! I guessed correctly as I saw a common kingfisher "fishing" from there! My only regret is...my lens is helplessly short!

1. Common Kingfisher (Alcedo Atthis)

At full speed, the kingfisher plunged into the water causing a BIG small splash.

2. The Splash

A dramatic effect on the water...

3. Common Kingfisher (Alcedo Atthis)

As fast as the plunge, the kingfisher burst out from the water.

4. Common Kingfisher (Alcedo Atthis)

The kingfisher flies back with a catch.

Sigh...I desperately in need of a longer and a quality lens, at least with a focal length of 300mm. My mental stress is not too much about work really...It's more to getting a decent lens for my 40D!
